BIO:

Tom Guthrie joined the NC State Ports Authority in June 1990 as the Regional Marketing Manager in Charlotte, NC, and is currently Staff Sales Manager in Wilmington, NC.  Tom’s primary focus is developing additional import / export business for the container carriers calling Wilmington.

Previously, Tom worked in Charleston, SC for Evergreen International, Inc., the US General Agent for Evergreen Line, holding positions of Sales Representative and Assistant Manager of the Business Section.  His background also includes four years with the US Customs Service in the Carrier Control Section.

Tom is a 1984 graduate of the College of Charleston, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  He is a past President of the Cape Fear Chapter of the North Carolina World Trade Association, and currently sits on the Chapter’s Board.  Tom has also served as President and Chairman of the Board of the NC League of Transportation & Logistics.

Tom and his wife, Meg, live in Wilmington with their two children, Caroline (14) and Sarah Grace (11).
